The year we tried something else. Every week produced two results — a head-to-head game and a win or loss against the league median — and we have never gone back to it. What the format couldn't disguise was LA Fighting Capybaras, who took the top seed, the points title and the all-play title, then went out and won it too: 187–140 past Mr. Irrelevant, 160–142 past Arch Nemesis in the final. The most complete season anyone has ever put together here. In week 8, The Los Angeles Hobbits beat Sherwood Forrest Turkeys by 0.32 — thirty-two hundredths of a point, and at the time the closest game we'd ever recorded.
