The championship cup

Ten teams, a spreadsheet, and absolutely no idea we'd still be doing this eighteen years later. Predestined Polish Warbirds went 9-4 and took the regular season, the points title and the all-play title — a clean sweep of everything that doesn't come with a trophy. Chicago Beanbags came out of the three seed instead, put 111 on Dos Campeonatos in a first round that wasn't close, survived The Deadbeat & The Derelict by eleven, and beat Hot Grits 119–98 for the first championship in league history. Best team all year, third place. We have been repeating that particular joke ever since.
